Exclusive Whale Watching & Fishing Charters

Come join us and choose your own adventure on this 26-foot Hewescraft vessel. This boat was built specifically for whale watching or fishing in extreme comfort. This small group excursion will take you away from the crowds and will allow you to view whales up close and personal or take you on a fishing adventure. Call for private charters. This boat takes only five passengers at a time for whale watching, and only four passengers for fishing. 

  • Itinerary:

    We will meet you at Icy Strait Point and transfer you to meet your Captain and crew. For 2.5 hours you’ll be traveling through the waters of Icy Strait – home to a wide array of wildlife including Orcas (killer whales), Stellar sea lions, sea otters, Harbor seals, Dall’s porpoise, and the magnificent humpback whale.

    Keep an eye out for brown bears and Sitka Black-tailed deer meandering the shoreline, and the noble Bald eagle perched on tree-tops. From the village of Hoonah to Pt. Adolphus near Glacier Bay National Park, Icy Strait Whale Adventures will delight in sharing the majestic beauty and culture that is Alaska!

  • Meeting Time:

    Please meet 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time. After exiting the ship, if on the Ocean Landing Dock, proceed ashore to the Icy Strait Point Adventure Center. Once inside the Adventure Center, walk through the building and exit through door number 2, which is clearly marked above the door. EXIT OUT OF DOOR 2.
    Follow the signs to the Excursions Hub where you will meet your deckhand with a sign that says Icy Strait Whale Adventures. From here we will head to our dock, just 4 minutes away, and we will board the vessel for departure.
    If you are on our Wilderness Landing Dock, walk up the dock and you will see the Green Transporter Gondola. Take that free gondola down and exit to your left where you will see the Excursion Hub trail. Take that trail and you will shortly be at the Excursion Hub where your deckhand will meet you.

  • Drop Off:

    We will return you directly to Icy Strait Point, and guarantee to get you back in time for “all guests onboard”.

  • Ages:

    Our custom-built whale-watching vessel makes this experience suitable for all ages, and we even offer child rates.

  • Things to Bring:

    You never know what the weather will be so come prepared for rain or shine. Hat and mittens can really make it more comfortable. Warm coats that are water resistant are a good idea. A camera to capture all those great sightings is a must and binoculars make those whales pop! Any munchies and beverages you’d like to bring to make your trip more enjoyable are fine with us!

    Catching is not guaranteed, but fishing is!
